There are a variety of personal trainers and fitness coaches out there. In our quest to give the very best service possible, we do extensive in-house coach training as well as national level certifications and testing. When an individual hires a fitness professional, it’s usually because they’ve tried everything they could think of to get fit, and nothing worked. Charlie Manganiello SFG
Charlie started at Elemental Performance + Fitness in early 2011. It was his first job when he moved to Lander from New Hampshire. After a couple of years working the front desk he decided to pursue personal training and coaching, earning his SFG coaching certificate. Charlie now heads the Elemental Strength program. He enjoys backcountry skiing, climbing, running, and strength training. Charlie offers programs which include general fitness, strength training, and climbing training. Emily is a trainer specializing in sport specific programming, interval training, metabolic and strength programs. She has been a Nordic ski coach at Lander Valley High School since 2007 where she has gained years of experience coaching both beginner and elite level athletes. As a former collegiate Nordic skier at Montana State University, she has significant training experience as a top level athlete. Her personal interests include long distance trail running, yoga, weightlifting, backcountry and Nordic skiing. Emily believes that every athlete, whether new to a sport or a veteran, benefits from continued focus on developing efficient movements, identifying and improving weaknesses and finding fun in the challenge of it all. Sylvia is a Certified Personal Trainer and certified yoga instructor at the 500 hour level through D’ana Baptiste and has been teaching for 4 years. Jagoe has been training at Elemental since February 2008. She holds certifications from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and USA Weightlifting.

Steve Bechtel SFG, CSCS
Steve Bechtel is a strength coach and personal trainer. The founder of Elemental Performance + Fitness, Steve specializes in helping even the most challenged individuals move toward their weight-loss goals. Using training plans built around his clients’ schedules and nutritional preferences, he has helped people with fat loss for over fifteen years.
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and holds a degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of Wyoming. Steve is an SFG, USA Weightlifting Certified Coach, a USA Cycling Elite-level coach, and has been coaching triathlon for nearly 15 years as a USAT-certified coach. A world-renowned expert in the training of rock climbers, he coaches many top-level climbers and writes extensively on climbing training at the website Climb Strong.
