Elemental Holiday Nutrition Challenge

As we head into the holiday season we want to bring focus to the nutrition challenges that are more prevalent this time of year. Instead of our historical 100 workouts before the end of the year, we challenge you to choose an aspect of your nutrition that you can improve (and let’s be honest, all of us can improve somewhere). We encourage you to choose one challenging and accomplishable nutrition goal.
For 8 weeks, from November 5th-December 31st, we challenge you to meet your nutrition challenge. We recognize that everyone’s needs are different, but to keep things simple, we came up with 4 nutrition goals to choose from.
And while we are talking about the oh-so difficult task of goal setting, here are a few things to consider:
Choose goals that are achievable yet challenging.
Choose goals that are measurable.
Choose goals that you can truly commit to.
And why not do all of them at once? Research has shown that incremental habit forming changes are the ones that stick around, so we limit you to one nutrition goal. Really get in the habit of drinking enough water and then phase two might be eating more vegetables. Once you are drinking enough water and eating enough vegetables, limiting your sugar intake may come more easily because you will feel satiated with more nutrient dense food choices. You see how this could work in your favor, right?

Here is how to get involved:
1. Make a Commitment by registering in person at 134 Lincoln Street Lander, WY before November 5th, 2014. There is limited space for participation, so don’t delay! Free to members. $15 for non-members (including punch card holders).
2. Choose a Daily Goal. You can only choose one!
3. Be Accountable. There will be a large scale grid posted at the gym for you to keep track of your progress. We can also provide you will habit change forms that you can have with you at all times.
4. Celebrate your success! Each participant will receive a challenge specific t-shirt that you soon after signing up. Additionally, we will host a special cocktail hour at Sego featuring healthy appetizers and drinks to celebrate your nutritional improvements.
