Youth 9-18 years old are welcome, but we have changed this up a bit. There are going to be two climbing teams this year. How much a youth athlete can commit, their willingness to compete, and their desire to become a better climber will dictate which team they should be on. This is our fourth year of running the climbing team and we feel the need to progress the team forward by having more practice time and more focused practices. The options below will do this, while still having an opportunity for kids to be on the team, but at a less committed level. Both teams will travel around the state to compete and we will also go to at least one USA Climbing sanctioned competition in the Front Range or Salt Lake.
Although still a competitive climbing team with focused practices, this team is for any youth climber who wants to test the climbing team waters without fully committing to the competitive team. The B-Team offers a bridge between Club Climbing and the more competitive A Team. Instruction will focus on climbing technique and conditioning with less time on the wall because they are busy doing other extracurricular activities or don’t want to commit to the full team. Here is the information:
The B-Team will practice on Mondays, 3:30 – 5:30pm from September 30th, 2019 – February 24th, 2020.
